Mission Statement: The mission of the Middlefield Agricultural Commission is to: encourage the pursuit of agriculture in the Town both as a business and as a community resource; promote the protection and preservation of farms and farmland; promote agricultural-based economic opportunities; articulate agriculture-related planning needs; advise other Town Boards on activities pertaining to agricultural lands in Town; and promote the visibility and vitality of farming in Middlefield. Activities/Actions, Ongoing: Prepare Right to Farm Bylaw for Town Meeting 2006 Survey of Middlefield Agriculture planned for 2008 Creating Stakeholders Database Investigating Chapter 61A questions at Selectboard‘s request Opposed MA Senate Bill 1840 banning exotic animals in fairs and shows.
